Hall of Opium

From an Opium-farming and heavily drug-trafficked area to a museum that build awareness of the danger of the narcotics

Communication method

Completed in 2002, the Hall of Opium made history by introducing an experiential exhibition, which takes the audience through the journey via replication of real-life situation, lighting and sounds. The exhibition includes the recreation of an opium den, the cargo bay of a sailboat carrying opium, and wax figures of historical people. The museum has been a prototype for many others since then.
